Pawnee National Grassland Oil and Gas Leasing Analysis
The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland has analyzed future oil and gas leasing development on the Pawnee National Grassland. Originally, the 1997 Forest Plan provided information on what is considered acceptable for development on the Pawnee National Grassland. Due to changing conditions, including new technology and increased interest in development, the Forest conducted a programmatic analysis of only National Forest System lands on the Pawnee National Grassland. The purpose of the analysis was to consider and disclose any new circumstances or information relevant to environmental effects that may not have been anticipated in the 1997 Plan to determine if additional management direction and/or leasing stipulations are necessary to protect National Forest System lands. The Record of Decision was signed in 2015.
The Final Environmental Impact Statement and Draft Record of Decision have been published.
