Southbound I-25 was closed for about half an hour Tuesday morning after a man jumped from the U.S. 34 overpass.

Update: The Larimer County Coroner's Office ruled the cause and manner of death as suicide by massive blunt force trauma, mainly to the head.

A 35-year-old man died Tuesday after jumping off the U.S. 34 overpass onto Interstate 25 during the morning rush hour.

Loveland police responded to the area around 8 a.m. after hearing reports of a man standing on the overpass above the interstate. Both U.S. 34 and I-25 were shut down in the area for about half-hour after he jumped.

He was not hit by oncoming traffic, according to a Loveland Police Department news release.

He was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, where he was pronounced dead.

This was one of several incidents on I-25 on Tuesday morning.

Around 6:30 a.m., the Colorado State Patrol responded to a four-car crash near Colorado State Highway 392. One driver was seriously injured, and another was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

About 15 minutes later, a small truck crashed into a sign near Johnstown. The crash left a power cable stretched across the north and southbound lanes of I-25. That was cleared by about 7:20 a.m.
