A Broomfield woman was arrested early Saturday morning after investigators say she stole her Uber driver's car and drove it into, among other things, a retaining wall.

Sheriff's deputies responded to the call about 2:40 a.m. Saturday. When they got there, they were told that when the Uber driver reached the destination in the 700 block of Glenn Ridge Drive, Meagan Osgood got into a fight with another passenger and refused to get out of the car. When the Uber driver got out to break up the fight, Osgood locked the car's doors and proceeded to drive it through a yard, striking a retaining wall, a tree and landscaping, according to a news release.

The Uber driver said she barely missed him, and he had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. It was also reported that Osgood was "very intoxicated." The vehicle was heavily damaged in the front.

Sheriff's deputies and Fort Collins police officers found the car at North College Avenue and Myrtle Street, where they conducted a high-risk traffic stop. Osgood ignored commands from officers and was reluctant to get out of the vehicle. She eventually did, but would not move away from the car. A Fort Collins police officer used Pepperball, a pepper spray projectile, multiple times to get her to comply before she was arrested.

She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation because of her exposure to the pepper spray and for any injuries she might have sustained driving the car into the wall and tree. She was cleared and booked into the Larimer County Jail on suspicion of aggravated motor vehicle theft, felony menacing, criminal mischief, driving under the influence, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest. Her bond was set at $500.
