Fort Collins resident 'Steven W.' recently won a $3 million jackpot from a Colorado Lottery scratch-off ticket.

A Fort Collins man is contemplating early retirement after winning a $3 million jackpot in a Colorado Lottery scratch-off game.

The winner, identified only as "Steven W." in a Colorado Lottery press release, bought the winning ticket Monday at a Schrader's Country Store on College Avenue.

His winning ticket is one of three $3 million jackpots in the $50 Bankroll Blast scratch game released Monday. The winning ticket was the first sold from the pack that was opened at the Fort Collins store, according to the release.

Steven was "a little stunned and a lot skeptical" when he reported the winning ticket to the Lottery's Fort Collins claims office and left to cheers from a crowd gathered at the adjacent Department of Motor Vehicles office, Colorado Lottery officials said.

The winner told Colorado Lottery that he will start planning early retirement from his bottle manufacturing job and may take off the rest of the holiday season.

After taxes, his net prize is $2.13 million.
