New Belgium announces major beer lineup changes
New Belgium Brewing is shaking up its beer lineup heading into 2017.
The brewery announced Wednesday the addition of four new year-round beers, the rebranding three of its beers and also the dropping of three flagship beers from production.
“This is our most ambitious portfolio re-imagining since our beginnings,” said New Belgium spokesperson Bryan Simpson in a release. “We’ve got a lot of excitement, momentum and energy coming out of the pilot system and that makes for a bounty of great beers with interesting twists.”

Voodoo Ranger 8 Hop Ale, Dayblazer Easygoing Ale, Citradelic Exotic Lime Ale and Tartastic Lemon Ginger Sour are the new year-round brews making their debut. The brews are scheduled to hit the market by January.
Snapshot Wheat, Slow Ride Session IPA and Shift Pale Lager, meanwhile, are being phased out of production.
Voodoo Ranger 8 Hop Ale is a 35-IBU pale ale made with eight different hop varieties, as the name suggests.
The beer is also part of New Belgium’s new hoppy beer line. Ranger IPA will become Voodoo Ranger IPA and Rampant Double IPA will become Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA as part of the rebrand.
Blue Paddle Pilsener will also be rebranded as New Belgium Bohemian Pilsener. Blue Paddle was New Belgium’s first lager release back in 2013.

Dayblazer Easygoing Ale is a new 4.8-percent ABV golden ale. It will be the brewery’s first ever 24-ounce can release and will also be distributed in standard 12-ounce cans.
Tartastic Lemon Ginger Sour Ale checks in at 4.8-percent ABV. Citradelic Exotic Lime Ale is a 5.3-percent ABV golden ale that borrows the brand name of the brewery’s popular tangerine IPA.
Fat Tire, Citradelic Tangerine IPA, Sunshine Wheat, 1554 Black Ale, Abbey Belgian Ale, Trippel, Glutiny Pale Ale and Glutiny Golden Ale remain as other New Belgium flagship year-round offerings.
