Don't mail in your ballot — drop it off instead

Do not — repeat, do not — mail your ballot back. At least, not if you want to make sure it's received by the Larimer County Clerk and Recorder's office in time to be counted.

Election Day isn't until Nov. 8, but Larimer County Clerk Angela Myers urges those whose ballots aren't yet in the mail to drop them off in person at one of the 24-hour drop boxes or voter service centers around the county. That mitigates any concerns of the ballot getting lost in the process or otherwise delayed until after Election Day.

Ballots must be received by the clerk's office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, regardless of postmark. A full list of drop-off locations and more information can be found at www.larimer.org/elections.

"I always say, value your voting privilege," Myers said in a text message. "And vote early if you can."

Myers has warned that if more than 20,000 ballots come in on Election Day, full county election results won't be available that night.
