Four people died in the three separate crashes in a 24-hour period in Larimer County over the weekend.

It was a deadly weekend on Larimer County roads as three people were killed and one was seriously injured in three separate crashes in a 24-hour period.

A rollover crash killed a Fort Collins High School teacher and her husband — a teacher at Longmont High School — Friday night, and separate crashes in Larimer County on Saturday left one person dead and another seriously injured.

About 4:30 p.m., a two-vehicle, head-on crash on the southeast I-25 frontage road in Johnstown killed one man.

About 10 minutes later, a crash on Colorado State Highway 392 left a motorcyclist seriously injured. According to Colorado State Patrol, the crash occurred when a pickup truck exited Interstate 25 onto 392, moving from the right to left lane in front of a westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle. The two vehicles did not make contact, but the motorcyclist, 52-year-old Robert Mathea of Windsor, swerved to avoid the truck and crashed. he was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries.

The fatalities brought the death toll on Larimer County roadways to 36 for the year. By this time last year, 31 people had died, according to records maintained by the Coloradoan and the Larimer County Coroner's Office. Twenty-four people died in both 2014 and 2013, 26 died in 2012, and 20 died in 2011.

This story has a correction: Robert Mathea, who was involved in a car-motorcycle crash on Highway 392, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
