Train kills Loveland man in Weld County

A 66-year-old Loveland man died Monday after the pickup truck he was driving was struck by a train.

A 66-year-old Loveland man suffered fatal injuries Monday after a train crashed into his pickup truck in Weld County.

Lloyd Rosa Windbigler was driving a pickup and attempting to cross the railroad tracks near U.S. Highway 85 and Weld County Road 30, not far from Platteville, the Weld County Coroner's Office said. The man initially survived the crash and was taken to Denver Health Medical Center, where he died about an hour later.

An autopsy is scheduled.
