14 CSU basketball games selected for TV broadcasts

Seven CSU men’s basketball games were selected for national television broadcasts by CBS-Sports Network and seven others for regional broadcasts by Root Sports, the Mountain West Conference announced Thursday.

The Rams also have one game that could wind up on ESPNU, and three more that the network will make available online at ESPN3.com, according to the broadcast schedule.

Two of Colorado State University’s marquee nonconference games, at home Dec. 3 against Wichita State and Dec. 17 in Denver against Kansas State, will be broadcast nationally by CBSSN. The network also chose the Rams’ home game Feb. 25 against San Diego State and road games Jan. 18 at Fresno State, Jan. 28 at San Diego State, Feb. 4 at UNLV and Feb. 21 at New Mexico for national broadcasts.

Root Sports will televise the Rams’ regular-season opener at home Nov. 13 against New Mexico State and both games in the Border War series with Wyoming on Feb. 14 in Laramie and Feb. 28 at Moby Arena. Root also will broadcast CSU home games Jan. 7 against Air Force, Jan. 14 vs. New Mexico, Jan. 25 against San Jose State and Feb. 7 vs. Utah State.

ESPN selected the Rams’ Dec. 28 home game with UNLV and will broadcast it on ESPNU or online at ESPN3.com. The network also will put the Rams’ games Dec. 31 at Boise State, Feb. 11 vs. Fresno State and March 4 at Nevada on ESPN3.com.

Two other games will be broadcast online by CampusInsiders.com and the Mountain West Digital Network: Jan. 4 at San Jose State and Jan. 21 at Utah State. All other CSU home games and many of the road games also will be streamed online at CSURams.com.

CSU went 18-16 overall and 8-10 in the MW last season under coach Larry Eustachy, who is entering his fifth season with the Rams.
