UPDATE 11:40 a.m.: Fort Collins police arrest 2 murder suspects in connection with shooting

UPDATE 10 a.m.: Two people were arrested at Fort Collins police headquarters Monday morning, jail booking records show.

Donny Ray Pulliam Jr., 29, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.

Janee Cardenas, 26, was arrested on suspicion of felony murder and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Police have not confirmed whether the arrests are related to Monday's shooting investigation in southwest Fort Collins.

UPDATE 9:45 a.m.: Patty LeMay lives in an apartment near the scene of the investigation.

She said she hears commotion regularly, as teenagers and other young people run up and down the stairs. However, Sunday night was different and louder than usual, she said.

She heard what sounded like people yelling and stomping on the stairs. She also heard a loud bang.

LeMay didn’t see anything but said police officers knocked on her door around 2 a.m. to talk with her, warn her that the parking lot would be temporarily closed and ask her to remain in her apartment.

Nikki Foreman lives nearby, too. Shortly after 10 p.m., she saw a police officer driving with lights flashing down Harmony Road.

She watched as the officer turned around and came into the complex. She said she didn’t hear anything and didn’t think anything of it until this morning, when she saw the parking lot was crisscrossed with police tape. In general, she feels safe living in Woodlands Apartments, but she was concerned about the incident and investigation, she said.

“It’s a concerning thing to walk out and see police tape outside of your apartment,” Foreman said. “… I know (police) always say there’s not a threat, but it’s still concerning.”

Apartment complex staff declined to comment Monday morning.
