Citizens make comments at the CSU board of governors meeting discussing the stadium.

CSU President Tony Frank on Thursday asked the university system governing board to give him two additional months to study "at least four options" before making a final recommendation on the long-debated on-campus football stadium.

Agenda:

Members of the Board of Governors are scheduled to meet Thursday and Friday at the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins. Frank is expected to give the board an update on the stadium project from 3:30 to 4 p.m. in the North Ballroom in the Lory Student Center.

Two hours thereafter are set aside for public comment, according to the meeting agenda.

About the meeting:

Frank announced Sept. 25 that fundraising for the project fell well short of the October goal. CSU is now analyzing four options, two of which include using general fund dollars to complete renovations at existing Hughes Stadium or modernizing Hughes so the Rams can play there for the next 40 years.

Also up for discussion is whether CSU should build the on-campus stadium in phases, or enter into a public-private partnership where a private entity might construct and maintain the stadium to CSU's specifications in return for multiple decades of annual payments.

Frank has said analysis on the four options is underway and that costs should be limited to employee pay.
