Colorado State University is one among three Colorado universities that made it in Forbes’ latest ranking of the top 50 schools for startup businesses in the U.S.

CSU came in at No. 49 ahead of Rice University, in Texas, but trailed No. 19-ranked University of Colorado Boulder and the University of Denver, which came in at No. 27. Stanford University topped the list thanks to famous dropouts like Google’s Larry Page.

Forbes based its ranking on each university’s entrepreneurial ratios. This is defined as the number of alumni and students who have identified themselves on LinkedIn as founders and business owners compared to the school’s total student body.
