Free Heat Days Childcare Fair at Coloradoan

The Coloradoan will host a kid-friendly Heat Days Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 6.

Attendees can learn more about a Poudre School District pilot program that includes early release days for children in kindergarten through eighth grade during the first two weeks of the 2014-15 school year, from Aug. 19-29.

Connect with other parents seeking care, and with day care providers, PSD officials and representatives from B.A.S.E. Camp and the Boys & Girls Clubs. The Early Childhood Council of Larimer County will offer tips for providing responsible care.

The United Way has partnered with the Coloradoan to offer free background checks, so parents who make meaningful connections can further the conversation safely. B.A.S.E. Camp will provide child care during the event and there will be snacks and water available.
