A man was airlifted from a Weld County Road Friday afternoon after his truck ran over his legs near the corner of WCR 84 and WCR 15.

The man was driving his pickup truck on WCR 84 around 4 p.m. when he realized something was wrong with his vehicle. Sgt. Sean Standridge of the Weld County Sheriff's Office said it's unclear whether one of his tires blew or locked up.

The man, who lives in the same area as the incident, then got out of his truck and was checking on his vehicle when it started moving. He tried to jump back in to engage the parking brake, but slipped and went under the truck, which rolled onto his legs, Standridge said.

A law enforcement officer at the scene said the investigation into what exactly happened was ongoing. The Weld County Sheriff's Office, Colorado State Patrol, Poudre Fire Authority and several ambulances were on the scene, but began to clear out after the man was transported.
