Irish Elementary School students in Fort Collins were evacuated over lunchtime Monday following a bomb threat.

Irish Elementary School was evacuated following a bomb threat Monday, May 23, 2016.

The threat came in as a recorded phone call at 11:30 a.m, according to Poudre School District spokeswoman Danielle Clark. Clark said the building, 515 Irish Drive in northeast Fort Collins, was checked twice and no credible threat was found. Students returned to class 30 minutes after the evacuation.

"It was a nice day to eat lunch outside," she said.

Clark said she was told by partners in the media that similar threats occurred at other Colorado school districts Monday.

According to the Associated Press, two elementary schools in Parker and Pueblo County were evacuated but other schools that got what were described as automated threats remained in session.

School evacuations because of threats were reported from New Hampshire to Wisconsin and California, as well as in the United Kingdom on Monday.

A spokeswoman for the Colorado Division of Emergency Management, Micki Trost, says the threats made Monday appear to be related to the ones made at schools across the country.

In New Hampshire, police say at least four schools were evacuated.

Recent previous threats made against multiple districts including Los Angeles and New York City have turned out to be hoaxes.
