Keys to the game: No. 7 Fort Collins at No. 4 Windsor

Friday night is a power battle between two of the top football teams in the state.

Fort Collins, the No. 7 team in Class 4A in the Associated Press media poll, heads to Windsor to face the No. 4 Wizards at 7 p.m..

Both teams made the 4A quarterfinals a year ago. Fort Collins (1-1) won last year's meeting 13-12. Windsor (2-0) is undefeated with both teams coming against ranked teams (Roosevelt in 3A and Broomfield in 4A).

Here are keys to Friday's game.

To win, Fort Collins must: Find weapons. In any way possible, Fort Collins has to get its playmakers the ball. Twice this season the Lambkins have used a receiver pass to great success. Last week they used heavy run formations as well as spread formations.

KielarHarpham has been used on the ground, through the air, throwing the ball and returning kicks and punts. Finding ways to get players like him, SamBostak, LukeWeaver and JacobMoyer the ball in open space will help the Lambkins pick up the road win.

To win, Windsor must: Wear down the Lambkins. Fort Collins is down three starters and the thin roster has several players going both ways.

Windsor's ground attack wears down the toughest opponents, led by BradPeeples and JakeShields, who both average more than 90 yards a game. The Wizards usually dominate the second half and have outscore their first two opponents 37-0 after halftime this year. If Windsor is tied or ahead at halftime, the Wizards will hope to grind away the Lambkins chance for a road win.
