The 19-year-old student whose Snapchat video prompted Friday's evacuation of an entire college campus told police he never meant to hurt anyone and the cellphone video that mimics a school shooting was just a joke, court records show.

Sebastian Pimentel-Calvo

A student contacted security at Front Range Community College Friday morning about the video posted on social media. Sebastian Pimentel-Calvo recorded the video while in the back of a Front Range classroom, and it shows the man "placing what appears to be the cross hairs of a firearm scope" on his teacher, Fort Collins police wrote in the man's arrest affidavit.

The phone then jerks back as if it was a recoiling firearm.

The video and cross hairs then focus on a female student sitting in front of him — another jerking motion follows.

"When you straight up Columbing it" is written in red at the bottom of the video, according to the arrest affidavit.

Officials decided to evacuate the campus about 1:20 p.m., and police contacted and arrested Pimentel-Calvo shortly thereafter at his job at Sam's Club. He told officers the video was just a joke and he never wanted to hurt anyone, police wrote.

Classes were canceled until 5 p.m. A "copycat" bomb threat prompted a brief campus closure on Monday, campus officials said.

The Larimer County District Attorney has charged Pimentel-Calvo with interference with school operations through a credible threat, a Class 1 misdemeanor. He has posted his $2,500 bond and is next due in court Oct. 14.
