Dozens of local baseball stars still playing in college

Northern Colorado is historically strong at high school baseball.

And it doesn't end there. At least 40 former Fort Collins-area baseball stars are still playing in college.

Here's a look at where they are and how they are doing, broken down by what high school they attend. Stats are current through Wednesday's action.

Blake Tomasino

Now: Neosho County Community College

Notable: Freshman outfielder is hitting .289 has 10 RBI and is second on the team with three home runs in 17 games.

Grant Lowensohn

Now: Colby College

Notable: Sophomore infielder has two starts and is hitting .250.

Caleb Kirkman

Now: Northern Colorado

Notable: Senior righthanded pitcher has one start and four appearances and a 9.00 ERA.

Jarrod Flax

Notable: Senior infielder has appeared in 20 games and is hitting .239 with two home runs and 13 RBI.

John Flint

Notable: Freshman outfielder has 24 starts and is hitting .280 and has two home runs and 13 RBI.

Colton Connolly

Notable: Junior righthanded pitcher hasn't appeared in any games this season. Had a 3.14 ERA last year as Tabor finished fifth in the nation.

Notable: Junior catcher has started 14 games and has four hits in 40 at bats with three RBI.

Notable: Redshirt freshman starting pitcher has a 3-3 record and 4.36 ERA.

Notable: Freshman catcher has 12 starts and is second on the team with 12 RBI. Has one home run and is hitting .326.
