Donald R. Samuelson peacefully passed away in his home June 30, 2014 after a pressing 17 year battle with a rare form of cancer. He has always been well-known for his upbeat attitude which he admirably maintained all the way through.

Don was born in Ashland, Wis. on April 29, 1943 to parents Harley Samuelson and Alice MacCauley Samuelson. He achieved his undergraduate degree from UW Superior, and after marrying Ann Ludwig on Sept. 10, 1966, they moved to Fort Collins, Colo. where he achieved his graduate degree from CSU. He worked as a Mechanical Designer at Woodward Governor for over 40 years retiring in 2009.

Don's interests included: fossil and rock collecting, hiking in the mountains and grasslands, target shooting, woodworking and being a Bass Voice and "keeper of the pitch pipe" in The Choice City Singers Group for an amazing 20 years. His many homemade props for the Group will carry his legacy for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and cousin Jimmy. He is survived by; Wife Ann, Daughter Erica, Grandsons Austin and Dalton, Brother Larry (Joan) Samuelson and Nieces Lynn and Carol (Chris) Kempf.

Don donated his body to science/research in hopes to help other cancer patients. No services will be held, instead please make any donations to Pathways Hospice who went above and beyond providing him the best care possible.

In closing, the curious and industrious Don would say, "Isn't there a better way to do that?"
